Man Claims Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome in Suit
-November 5, 2007
A locomotive engineer, who previously worked for Illinois Central Railroad, claims that he has suffered physical injuries from his time working on the railroad.
The man says that he has suffered from bilateral lower extremity tarsal tunnel syndrome due to whole body vibration and trauma while at work.
Railroad Company Accused of Negligence
Eddie E. McCandrew was reportedly employed with the railroad company since 1994 and is now accusing his previous employer for the injuries he now has to live with.
In additional to tarsal tunnel syndrome, McCandrew says that he also suffers from bilateral carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve syndrome.
The plaintiff says that his work, which included operating locomotives, caused excessive vibration and horizontal motion.
Illinois Central is being accused of violating the FELA act by not providing McCandrew with a safer place to work and failing to provide safe equipment and supervision.
Seeking Compensation
The previous worker claims that he has suffered from pain and mental anguish and loss of earnings.
McCandrew is seeking $225,000 in damages for his injuries.
