FELA suit seeks damages in excess of $50,000
-May 3, 2005
A Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) lawsuit is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 in Madison County Circuit Court against a maintenance worker's employer Norfolk Southern Railway.
The FELA lawsuit, which will go to court May 3, claims the railroad's negligence exposed the worker to repetitive trauma to his body - specifically his shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists and hands that caused permanent and serious injuries.
Under FELA, the allegedly injured worker must prove that the railroad was legally negligent in causing the injury. For more information on FELA lawsuits, please contact us to confer with a personal injury lawyer.

FELA, or the Federal Employment Liability Act assures railroad employees a safe work place and gives them and their families the right to recover compensation if injured in a railroad related accident. Under FELA, injured employees can seek compensation for wage loss, future wage loss, medical expenses and treatments, pain and suffering, and for partial or permanent disability. All railroad solvent exposure lawsuits have been filed under FELA.
